Democrats spent years telling Texas they were the party that protects women.
Now their handpicked congressional recruit is the one caught targeting women online.
What Bobby Pulido asked those women for is the part Democrats hope nobody reads.
The Post Report Adds To A Long Line Of Ugly Posts
The New York Post reported this week that Pulido used Spanish-language social media to pursue women he'd never met. In one message, he wrote to a woman, "I want a photo of your tit," according to the Post. The messages weren't private texts. They were sitting in the open on his own accounts for anyone to find.
This wasn't an isolated lapse. Fox News reported Pulido starred in a 2010 music video playing an exhibitionist character on camera, then years later mocked convicted fraudster Martin Shkreli online. Fox News also reported that Democrats heavily recruited Pulido to run, citing Politico's own reporting on his star power, and that his social media history of pornographic links and images dates back to 2013. Daily Caller reported that in 2016, Pulido posted a doctored photo comparing Hillary Clinton to actress Chloë Grace Moretz, paired with a crude joke about childbirth.
Pulido has a defense ready. He told the Associated Press, in remarks Daily Caller reported, that "sometimes that humor doesn't translate." His campaign gave CNN en Español the same line. Translation problems don't explain messaging a stranger for an intimate photo. That's not a language barrier. That's a pattern.
Democrats Recruited Him Anyway And Still Won't Cut Him Loose
National Democrats went looking for a Tejano star who could flip Texas' 15th District away from Rep. Monica De La Cruz, and Politico's own reporting shows they courted Pulido hard. Party leaders had every chance to look at his social media before signing on. It wasn't buried. It had been public since 2013.
They signed him up anyway. Once the posts started drawing coverage, Pulido didn't drop out – he started scrubbing. He wiped the post showing him urinating on President Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star and recast himself as a family man. Democrats never pulled his funding. He stayed the nominee.
NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez didn't mince words, calling Pulido "a creep who played a pervert." He's not wrong. A man messaging women for intimate photos on the same accounts he uses to attack President Trump isn't a bipartisan family man. He's a candidate who got caught, and a party that already knew.

Pulido never denied sending the messages. He never said he regrets it. He just says people outside his fan base wouldn't get the joke.
The woman he messaged wasn't confused about what he meant.
This Is What Democrats Call Their Family-Friendly Candidate
Democrats went looking for a Tejano star to flip a red seat and came home with a candidate whose own posts needed a cleanup crew. They funded him. They put him on rally stages next to sitting officials. Nobody in that recruitment process flagged where his messages were headed.
This wasn't buried in his twenties, either. Pulido sent it while he was actively campaigning for a seat in the U.S. House. He wrote it in Spanish, betting his English-speaking critics – and maybe his own party – would never see it. The Post saw it anyway.
Every day Pulido stays on the ballot is a day national Democrats decide a House seat matters more than the woman he targeted. They can cut him loose now, or they can explain in November why they didn't.
Texas' 15th District voted for President Trump by 18 points. Voters there don't need a translator. They need a ballot.
