The Vanderpump Rules star had been one of Meghan Markle’s most vocal defenders through all the royal family drama and media controversies.
That loyalty just came to a crashing end.
Stassi Schroeder exploded on her podcast after getting completely shut out of Meghan’s recent "As Ever" PR box campaign for her lifestyle brand.
"I have literally defended her when no one else did," Schroeder fumed on her "Stassi" podcast.¹
"I have filmed videos about it, I’ve commented on all the things, I literally had my f***ing PR reach out."
The 37-year-old reality star didn’t hold back about feeling completely disrespected by the Duchess of Sussex.
Schroeder accused Meghan of looking down on her because of her reality TV background.
"The way she moves through social media, I think that she’s stuck in 2017, and she just thinks I’m a lowly reality person," Schroeder alleged.
"That’s what I think, and I am furious, and this is the last straw."
Schroeder had reached her breaking point and wasn’t holding back.
She announced she was cutting ties completely – no more defending Meghan, no more social media follows, nothing.
"I’m not watching her show anymore," she declared about Meghan’s Netflix series "With Love, Meghan."
"I’m not going to talk about her anymore. I’m going to unfollow her right now… Done."
The PR strategy that backfired spectacularly
What really set Schroeder off was discovering who actually did receive Meghan’s promotional gifts.
The lifestyle brand sent PR boxes to podcast hosts who have been critical of Meghan, including Claudia and Jackie Oshry from "The Toast."
Schroeder pointed out the backwards logic of rewarding critics while ignoring supporters.
"When you’re sending PR boxes to people who talk st about you — Claudia and Jackie don’t talk st about her, but they literally, they’ve questioned her," Schroeder explained.
She noted that the Oshry sisters would even reference her support for Meghan during their discussions.
"’I wonder what Stassi’s thinking about this because Stassi’s her number one fan.’ Everyone f***ing knows. No longer," Schroeder stated.
Schroeder owned her anger without apology, calling herself a "toxic fan that’s now a toxic hater."
But here’s what really set her off – Meghan’s backwards strategy of rewarding the people who criticize her while ignoring the ones who actually had her back.
"I think it’s her way of trying to control the narrative. I think she’s controlling," she alleged.
She went even further, calling Meghan a "control freak" and comparing her to Blake Lively – though she didn’t elaborate on that comparison.
Meghan’s pattern of burning bridges with former allies
This isn’t the first time Meghan has lost a high-profile supporter.
The Duchess previously cut ties with her close friend Jessica Mulroney after the Canadian stylist made controversial comments about "white privilege" in 2020.
Mulroney was reportedly "distraught" after being dropped from TV gigs because "Meghan has done nothing to stand up for her publicly" despite Mulroney being "there for Meghan through thick and thin."²
In 2023, "Made in Chelsea" star Millie Mackintosh claimed that Meghan "cut her dead" when she started dating Prince Harry in 2016.
Now Stassi Schroeder joins the growing list of former Meghan defenders who feel burned by the royal exile.
