Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship has dominated pop culture and even sports headlines over the last year.
Everyone is waiting for the answer to one question from the couple – will the pair be tying the knot?
And now Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have dropped major engagement news that has Swifties buzzing.
Kelce and Swift have their fans on engagement watch
Pop star Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce took both the entertainment and sports world by storm when they went official with their relationship last year.
The couple instantly became a tabloid sensation as Swift regularly attended Chiefs games and even flew to Las Vegas from her Eras Tour concert in Japan to watch Kelce’s Chiefs win their second straight Super Bowl when Kansas City defeated the San Francisco 49ers in an overtime thriller.
And in the lead-up to the Super Bowl, there were rumors floating that Kelce would get down on one knee and propose to Swift on the field if the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.
But that obviously didn’t happen.
However, their relationship continues to heat up as the two recently vacationed together in Lake Como, Italy.
And Kelce even flew to Europe for the foreign leg of Swift’s Eras Tour.
The relationship is again sparking speculation about the possibility of the biggest wedding since Prince William and Kate Middleton.
But, unfortunately for Swifties, that’s not in the cards at the moment.
“Travis has no plans on proposing to Taylor anytime soon,” a source close to the couple told US Weekly.
The source went on to claim Kelce views marriage as a serious commitment and wants to make sure it’s the right decision before proposing.
“It’s not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration,” the source added.
The source said Kelce “cares very deeply” about Swift but that “he’s just not there yet” in terms of marriage.
Nothing’s changed on the marriage front
This is the same message that US Weekly reported back in January, when rumors of a summertime engagement began swirling.
“Travis and Taylor have no plans on getting engaged this summer,” a different source told US Weekly at the time.
“Things between them are going amazing, but they haven’t even been together for a year yet and still have so much to learn about each other,” the source stated
The source also relayed that “a lot of their loved ones” want to see Kelce propose to Swift.
The outlet also reported the source saying, “and some may even believe” that it will happen but there won’t be nuptials “anytime soon.”
Kelce remains highly supportive of Swift
Kelce and Swift are seemingly very much in love.
In an interview with US Weekly, Kelce raved about Swift’s Eras Tour and urged everyone to get out to one of her concerts if they can.
“Taylor’s shows are unbelievable,” Kelce stated. “If you haven’t been to them, You got to try it.”
And on a recent episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce described the experience of traveling to Europe for the show where Swift debuted the new material from her The Tortured Poets Department album as a new feature for the tour.
“It was fun,” Travis declared. “I had a blast at Tay’s show. Her new rendition of The Eras Tour, I suggest everybody go see it.”
“It has her new Tortured Poets Department [album], a handful of those songs in the new show, which means there’s a new segment and new lights and new dancing, new everything to the f**king show. I suggest everybody get out there and see [her]. It is absolutely unbelievable,” Kelce concluded.
Kelce is clearly over the moon with Swift.
And a wedding may be in the cards sometime.
The ceremony would be the event of the year.
But it doesn’t appear to be on the horizon in the near future.
