The left spent forty years telling American men without a diploma that they'd picked the wrong life.
Now a Texas data center CEO just walked Fox News Digital through 900 jobs that prove every one of those elites dead wrong.
Trump built the policy framework that caught this wave years before Democrats even noticed it was cresting.
Democrats Spent Decades Burning the Bridge They Now Want to Cross
This didn't happen by accident.
The Democratic Party made a deliberate choice starting in the 1980s to abandon blue-collar America in favor of college-educated professionals clustered in coastal cities.
They told your kids a four-year degree was the only ticket to a respectable life.
They redesigned the economy, the tax code, and the cultural narrative around that assumption.
Biden's signature education play wasn't trade school funding – it was student loan forgiveness for people who already got the degree.
Chris Matthews – not exactly a conservative firebrand – admitted the obvious after the 2024 wipeout.
"The people that didn't go to college are voting for Trump," Matthews said, watching Democrats fail to explain why workers without diplomas should trust a party that spent a generation telling them their skills didn't matter.
Trump won voters without a four-year degree by 14 points in 2024 – 56 percent to 42 percent.
That's twenty years of working-class Americans figuring out which party actually respects them.
Obama Promised Shovel Ready Jobs Then Joked That None of Them Existed
Democrats have tried this jobs pitch before, and it collapsed on live television.
Obama sold the country on $830 billion in stimulus spending for "shovel-ready" construction jobs back in 2009.
Two years later he was laughing about it in front of reporters.
"Shovel-ready was not as shovel-ready as we expected," Obama admitted, grinning, while unemployment sat near nine percent.
An Energy Department watchdog later confirmed the whole premise was never realistic in the first place.
That's the Democrat model – announce the jobs, spend the trillion dollars, then joke about the jobs that never showed up.
Trump's model is the opposite: tariffs, reshoring incentives, and an apprenticeship order, then watch 900 actual people show up to actual jobs at a facility in Texas.
The campus just got built and the paychecks started clearing.
What Trump Did While Democrats Were Mourning Their Poll Numbers
In April 2025, Trump signed an executive order doing something no Democrat thought to do: he made the federal government officially prioritize trade apprenticeships over four-year degrees.
The White House set a goal of more than one million registered apprenticeships per year.
His administration also opened 529 college savings accounts to cover trade certifications and tools, freeing up roughly half a trillion dollars for trade schools.
Trade school enrollment hit its highest level ever recorded.
Blue-collar wages rose 1.4 percent in the first seven months of Trump's second term – the second-fastest increase at the start of any presidential term on record.
Eight trillion dollars in new U.S. investment has flowed back into the country as companies bring manufacturing home under America First trade policy.
Every one of those factories and data centers needs electricians, mechanical technicians, and construction crews to build and run it.
The Compass Datacenters campus in Red Oak, Texas – 2.6 million square feet, roughly 600 full-time employees plus another 300 next door making the equipment at the on-site Schneider Electric plant – didn't materialize because some bureaucrat in Washington wrote a white paper about workforce equity.
It materialized because the economic conditions Trump created made building it worth doing.
Compass Built a $12.6 Million Training Center Instead of Waiting for Washington
Blackstone COO Jon Gray announced earlier this year that his firm's data center platform alone would add 30,000 new blue-collar jobs.
Thirty thousand jobs.
No diploma required.
Compass says it has created more than 7,000 permanent factory jobs nationwide through its partners.
CEO Chris Crosby built that $12.6 million training facility at the Red Oak campus in partnership with Texas State Technical College so anyone willing to show up could walk straight into the field, resume or no resume.
"I am tired of the elitism that this doesn't create jobs," Crosby told Fox News Digital.
He's right to be tired of it.
The same people who mocked trade work spent a generation shipping kids to universities to study things that never produced a paycheck, loaded them with debt, and then acted surprised when those kids figured out the scam.
The welder at that campus in Texas isn't waiting for a diversity committee to approve his career path.
He's running cable in a facility that powers the digital infrastructure of the entire country and he's making good money doing it.
Red Oak Is the Blueprint Russia and China Don't Want You to See
The left will tell you the data center boom is an AI story.
They're wrong.
The AI story is the headline.
The real story underneath it is that Trump's America First framework – the tariffs, the reshoring incentives, the trillion-dollar infrastructure investment, the apprenticeship push – created the conditions where a company looks at a field 20 miles south of Dallas and decides to build ten data center buildings and a technical college.
Russia and China are investing in their own digital infrastructure.
Whoever controls the data centers controls the AI.
Whoever controls the AI controls the economic future.
That's a national security fact Democrats still refuse to campaign on.
The 900 workers at Red Oak, Texas aren't an economic footnote.
They're proof that the party of the working class isn't the one that spent forty years telling working-class people to be ashamed of what they do.
