It shook the Democrat Party and much of the nation’s capital, to the core.
But Joe Biden is likely doing back flips.
Because the family of a legendary Democrat Senator who was rumored to be considering a third-party presidential bid, just broke tragic news to the nation.
Joe Lieberman’s family announces his death
The family of former U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) announced he died suddenly at the age of 82.
Lieberman, who spent most of his time as a leading Democrat, also served as former Vice President Al Gore’s running-mate on the ill-fated 2000 Democrat Presidential ticket.
In a statement the family said Lieberman passed away “due to complications from a fall. He was 82 years old. His beloved wife, Hadassah, and members of his family were with him as he passed.”
Lieberman’s career spanned the transformation of the Democrat Party from the corporate-friendly liberalism of President Bill Clinton to a precursor to the radicalism of the “Squad.”
He served four terms in the Senate from 1989 to 2013 and ascended to national prominence when Al Gore chose him as his running mate in 2000.
“Miracles happen,” Lieberman declared after Gore chose him. “I believe deeply in Al Gore.”
The media reported at the time that Gore chose the straight-laced Lieberman as a rebuke of Clinton to show that Gore’s administration would attempt to move past the sex scandals and personal failings that dominated Clinton’s two terms in office.
“Lieberman is the closest thing Democrats have to an anti-Clinton,” The Wall Street Journal wrote of Gore picking Lieberman.
“While critical of Clinton’s personal lapses, the Connecticut senator has been a largely enthusiastic cheerleader of the administration on substantive issues, and he praised Gore yesterday as a ‘full partner’ in shaping policy with Clinton. He also indicated he was prepared to assume the standard Vice Presidential role of attacking the other ticket — with relish,” the Washington Post wrote.
Establishment-favored Lieberman championed a globalist agenda
After losing to George W. Bush and Dick Cheney in the 2000 Election, Gore faded from political life, but Lieberman returned to the Senate where he became the top cheerleader for the deep state.
It was Lieberman who proposed the disastrous legislation that created the Department of Homeland Security after 9/11.
As many conservatives and liberty-minded Americans warned, Democrats now use to censor conservatives online through the CISA agency.
He also became the number one Democrat cheerleader of the Iraq War blunder.
A photo of Lieberman kissing President Bush on the cheek during a State of the Union at the height of the Iraq War led to a left-wing challenge from Ned Lamont in the 2006 Connecticut Democrat Senate Primary.
And in an early sign the Democrat Party was moving in the direction that would eventually give birth to the “Squad,” Lamont defeated Lieberman.
But then Lieberman decided to run as an independent.
“If the people of Connecticut are good enough to send me back to Washington as an independent Democrat, I promise them I will keep fighting for the same progressive new ideas and for stronger national security,” Lieberman stated.
In a move that infuriated conservatives, RINOs like Newt Gingrich endorsed Lieberman over the GOP candidate because by that point Leiberman was known as one of the “Three Amigos” – the trio of Senators that included Lieberman and RINOs John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) – who supported every warmongering policy that came down the pike.
McCain’s plan to pick Lieberman as his running mate slammed into a brick wall
Lieberman won re-election in 2006 thanks to the GOP establishment and then-Senator John McCain (R-AZ) initially planned to select him as his running mate in the 2008 Presidential Election.
But even McCain’s RINO advisors knew that the delegates on the floor of the GOP convention would vote down the idea of McCain picking a pro-abortion Democrat to be the Vice-Presidential nominee on the GOP ticket.
Lieberman retired from the Senate four years later and left Washington, D.C. with a legacy of setting America on the disastrous warmongering course in foreign policy in the early 2000s.
But, it can also be said that Lieberman helped usher in the anti-establishment rebellion that led to the Ron Paul Revolution and helped give rise to the Presidency of Donald Trump.
