The swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated used to be one of the most anticipated moments of the year.
The magazine played a large role in building the era of the supermodel.
Winding the clock back to the 80’s, Americans saw models like Cindy Crawford, Vandela, Tyra Banks and Kathy Ireland become household names, many thanks to their well known appearances in Sports Illustrated.
But the magazine was one of the first to fall victim to succumbing to radical woke philosophy.
As a result of focusing on using their well renowned magazine to promote transgenderism and overweight models, their popularity began to plummet.
Sports Illustrated effectively decided that loyalty to a fringe politically-minded narrative was better than caring about what their readers preferred.
With the print industry nearly being stomped out in today’s digital world, it seems unlikely that even a course correction would save the magazine at this point.
But that didn’t stop them from trying.
This year, readers were able to obtain a small taste of ‘normalcy’ when Sports Illustrated elected to feature Brittany Mahomes, wife of the Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, in a Belize photoshoot.

The controversy over Brittany Mahomes
Brittany Mahomes is well known to be a controversial figure, especially when compared to the other wives and girlfriends of professional sport superstars.
Back in 2022, Mahomes earned the center of attention when she decided to celebrate like an unhinged wildling by celebrating the Chief’s AFC Divisional victory over the Buffalo Bills in overtime by shaking and spraying champagne all over fans.

But she has worked hard to start cleaning up her image over the course of the past year.
When the spotlight is on her at Chiefs games now, she can be seen participating in rehearsed celebrations with Taylor Swift, who is currently dating Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce.
And in the moments that she was covered in the Netflix series Quarterback, she was able to show viewers that she truly is just another regular human being.
In the Netflix show, she and her husband told the story of how they came together as a couple.
Apparently, the two have been friends dating back to grade school, with Brittany being in the class above Patrick.
“I was like the best friend, in the friend zone forever,” shared Patrick Mahomes.
According to the quarterback, he would go out of his way to awkwardly flirt with Brittany in high school.
“I used to walk her to class and was trying to flirt. When I was a sophomore in high school, and she was a junior, I actually got her a rose and I was kinda, like, I had a crush on her,” added Patrick. “But I was giving the rose as a joke, but kind of a quotation ‘joke.’”
“I thought it was the cutest thing in the world,” Brittany responded to the story about the rose.
Brittany even recalled their first kiss together, with the help of her friends during lunch.
“And then everyone at our lunch table started chanting, ‘Kiss him, kiss him!’ and made it really awkward ‘cause we were ‘just friends,’” shared Brittany. “That’s kind of what started it and I thought it was cute…”
“So they were chanting, and I thought it was kind of awkward, and it was funny, and then we just kind of… I was like, ‘OK, this guy is actually kind of cute. Maybe I do like him.’ So then we just started talking and then started dating,” she concluded.
Since then, the two have been locked at the hip.
