This latest NASCAR green scheme has fans up in arms and mourning what could be the end of the once popular sport

NASCAR must be thinking Barack Obama will become a race fan with this Chicago-linked prototype.

NASCAR fans have always just wanted to be left alone to enjoy racing without being forced to bow to the woke mob.

The last thing they wanted was woke politics being rammed down their throats.

And this latest NASCAR green scheme has fans up in arms and mourning what could be the end of the once popular sport.

The Left trying to use NASCAR to promote electric vehicles

President Joe Biden and his comrades in the mainstream media are trying to force electric vehicles on the entire nation.

Their ultimate goal is to get all drivers behind the wheel of an electric vehicle to allegedly fight climate change.

And now that includes NASCAR drivers as well.

No sport in the country hates its own fans as much as NASCAR.

In the last few years they have bowed to the woke cancel culture mob and turned the once proud sport into just another leftist pastime.

They banned the confederate flag, long a staple at NASCAR races, implemented DEI, changed the rules, and started flying gay pride flags at their tracks.

Now NASCAR has unveiled an electric race car prototype in partnership with the Swiss-Swedish multinational company ABB.

The ABB NASCAR EV Prototype was said to be an opportunity for stock car racing to show its commitment to lower carbon emissions.

“The objective of the collaboration between NASCAR, ABB in the United States, and the NASCAR industry is to push the boundaries of electrification technology, from EV racing to long-haul transportation to facility operations,” ABB EVP Ralph Donati said.

Semi-retired Cup Series driver David Ragan put the vehicle to the test on the track at Martinsville Speedway.

While NASCAR officials said that there are no plans for an electric racing series yet, it is something they were exploring.

Leftist academics and NASCAR officials lauded the EV Prototype as a way to promote electric vehicles to what might otherwise be skeptical NASCAR fans.

From the roar of the engine to the low hum of an electric motor

NASCAR head of sustainability Riley Nelson even told the Associated Press that the sport and its corporate partners “want to represent electric vehicles, and more broadly electrification, in racing as cool, fun and accessible.”

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign environmental engineering professor Eleftheria Kontou touted the ABB NASCAR Prototype EV as a tool of propaganda to Tech Brew.

“There [are] a series of benefits of electric vehicles that can be introduced and communicated through this venue,” Kontou explained.

“Every consumer segment will make a decision on the transition depending on their situation,” Kontou said. “Having some knowledge and understanding of these machines can make a difference.”

Democrats continue to try and force the American people to transition to electric vehicles even as their sales have collapsed because no one outside of California wants to buy them.

Having an electric vehicle promoted by NASCAR can be a tool to try and win over the sport’s skeptical fanbase, which consists mostly of conservatives who live in the rural south.

But, as usual of late, NASCAR officials don’t even understand their own fan base.

One of the biggest thrills of going to a NASCAR race is the sound of the engine at races and the smell of gasoline.

That is an integral part of the sport’s very experience.

But all of that disappears when the car is electric.

“NASCAR fans tend to be looking for the noise that these engines make, the smell of gas,” Kontou said. “But the alternative, the electric vehicle prototype, can be something new and exciting in terms of the technology and the engineering.”

The once proud sport has already seen declining ticket sales and revenue due to its woke moves.

If they decide to make the switch to electric vehicles, it will very likely be the end of the sport.
