The House GOP majority is in full-blown crisis mode.
It seems no one in leadership knows exactly what to do about it.
And now this top Republican leader could be facing the end of his career after shocking rumors of a terrible blackmail scandal.
Popular Congresswoman ramps up her attacks on Speaker Johnson
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) increased her warnings to House Speaker Mike Johnson that he’s facing major backlash by trying to ram through a slush fund bill for the Ukraine war.
Johnson has previously voted against blank checks for the Ukraine war, but now he’s actively colluding with the Biden administration to keep U.S. taxpayer money flowing freely to Zelensky.
And in a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Greene said it’s getting so bad conservatives are now wondering if the Swamp is blackmailing Johnson to get him to go along with funding the Ukraine war.
“But now Mike Johnson has made a complete departure of who he is, and what he stands for, and to the point where people are literally asking, ‘Is he blackmailed?’ What is wrong with him because he’s completely disconnected with what we want?” Greene mused.
Carlson immediately jumped in and asked Greene if she had any proof Johnson was being blackmailed.
Greene responded by saying Johnson’s recent behavior – agreeing to a spending bill that funded forcing transgenderism on children, abortion clinics, a red flag gun confiscation scheme, and Biden’s open border agenda – left conservatives asking the question.
“I have no idea. I can’t comprehend, Tucker, what radically changes a man. I mean, if we break down the second part of basically an omnibus. Let’s break that down. So Mike Johnson is pro-life. And the second part of the omnibus, just less than two weeks ago, he funded full term abortion clinics, full term abortion clinics. He funded the trans agenda on children. I mean, how does that even happen from a Christian conservative Republican Speaker?” Greene asked.
Greene rips into Johnson for his betrayals of the base
Greene then ripped into Johnson for not putting up any resistance to Joe Biden’s trafficking of millions of illegal aliens into the country.
And she said Johnson has done nothing to hold Biden accountable for allowing criminal illegal aliens – like the one arrested for allegedly murdering Laken Riley – to stroll across the border and set free to roam around America.
“He did nothing for the southern border, did nothing to secure the border. And this comes on the heels of Laken Riley being brutally murdered. This came on the heels of a video that was running on loop on social media, where illegal aliens had rushed our border, ran over Texas National Guard, ran over Border Patrol agents in order to invade our country. These were military age men, by the way. He did nothing to secure our border. It’s the number one issue in the world,” Greene added.
“He completely changed who he was, funded the FBI, gave them a brand new building, fully funded the Department of Justice that is persecuting everyone on the right and actually targeting presidential candidate for election this year. Literally trying to put him in jail the rest of his life. We don’t know who Mike Johnson is anymore. So there’s no I can’t comprehend it,” Greene concluded.
Is Greene set to move on her motion to vacate the chair?
Greene can trigger a floor vote on the motion to vacate the chair that she introduced at any time.
Conservatives elevated Johnson to the position of Speaker of the House because Johnson pledged to fight for their values.
But each day that passes shows Johnson’s loyalty is to the Swamp, not to the GOP’s conservative base.
And if Johnson rams through a bill to secure Ukraine’s border while ignoring the illegal alien crisis here at home then Greene could very well set the process in motion to remove Johnson as Speaker of the House.
The question now is if Greene is prepared to go that far to hold Johnson accountable.
