Harmeet Dhillon Just Revealed Why Susie Wiles Begged Her to Stay Silent

Harmeet Dhillon spent nineteen months gutting woke lawyers out of the Justice Department.

Three weeks before Election Day, she told Susie Wiles she was ready to walk.

Wiles asked her to sit on it until Republicans survived the midterms.

Dhillon Says She Quit Three Weeks before Election Day

Harmeet Dhillon told Fox News Digital nobody pushed her out the door.

She made the call herself, and she made it long before Washington noticed anything was coming.

"Susie asked me to please wait until after the midterms," Dhillon said.

She raised the idea with Wiles three weeks before Election Day, then filed her formal resignation on November 5.

That's not a staffer getting forced out after a bad election night.

That's a lawyer finishing the job on her own calendar, then doing the White House a favor by keeping it quiet until the votes were counted.

Attorney General Todd Blanche publicly thanked her afterward, crediting her with running the division fairly and standing up for every American's civil liberties.

Schumer and Garcia Just Lost Their Best Subpoena Target

Remember what that division looked like before Dhillon showed up.

For years, DOJ lawyers spent their time going after pro-life Americans who prayed outside abortion clinics instead of chasing actual criminals.

Dhillon told career staff the mission was changing to Second Amendment rights, religious liberty, transgender athletes in women's sports, and election integrity.

Roughly 300 attorneys walked out rather than do the job.

Dhillon didn't blink.

She went out and recruited more than 130 replacements who actually wanted the assignment.

She also walked straight into the biggest fight in the country, defending the hunt for noncitizens on voter rolls against a skeptical CBS News host on "60 Minutes."

Now she's leaving behind a division that looks nothing like the one Kristen Clarke ran under Biden, and she's doing it on a date she picked herself.

Democrats flipped the House on Tuesday, with Senate control still too close to call.

House Oversight Democrat Robert Garcia has already promised subpoenas for Todd Blanche and other Trump officials on "day one" of the new majority.

Several Democrats spent election week telling administration officials to lawyer up, like they'd survived two years of grocery prices instead of just losing a war over them.

Garcia wanted a perp walk.

Schumer wanted the cameras rolling.

Dhillon just took that away from both of them.

She already filed her resignation on her own schedule, which leaves no closed-door ambush for Garcia's committee to stage.

Asked whether she expected Trump to pardon her, Dhillon said she's done nothing that would require it, and that any decision like that belongs to the president anyway.

That's not the language of someone running from a subpoena.

That's the language of someone who already won.

Every president who takes a midterm beating sees this movie play out.

Jeff Sessions and Ryan Zinke left the Trump cabinet after the 2018 wipeout.

Mark Esper got fired days after the 2020 election, and Bill Barr resigned weeks later.

The difference this time is Dhillon isn't fleeing a scandal or getting fired by tweet.

She's leaving behind finished work, and Democrats can subpoena all they want, but they can't subpoena a job that's already done.

Wiles wanted the timing kept quiet because Republicans just took a beating at the ballot box, and the White House didn't need one more departure story piled on top of it.

That's smart politics, not a cover up.

Dhillon gave Wiles the courtesy anyway, and she's walking out the door with her reputation and her law practice fully intact.

Democrats wanted a scalp.

Instead they got a lawyer who finished the job on her own terms and told them about it after the fact.
