Fresh off getting a free pass from the conflict of interest and perjury allegations levied against her, Fulton County District, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis is more emboldened and deranged than ever before.
She now appears fully convinced that the rules simply don’t apply to her and will stop at nothing to advance her witch hunt against former President Donald Trump .
And Fani Willis put jaws on the floor when she pulled this defiant stunt that may very well come back to haunt her.
Willis hasn’t spoken publicly since Judge Scott McAfee made the decision to pass on disqualifying the Democrat District Attorney over all the evidence that she brought about a conflict of interest in her case against Donald Trump by hiring her lover – Nathan Wade – as a special prosecutor, and then committed perjury trying to cover it up.
That changed recently when she made the jaw-dropping decision to definitely thumb her nose at Judge McAfee – who was appointed by anti-Trump establishment Republican Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, and almost immediately handed the Trump case after being sworn-in despite having zero experience as a judge – by making politically-charged comments about the case as if the rules don’t apply to her.
Speaking to Fox 5 Atlanta at a recent event, Willis suggested that she was the only District Attorney in America with the “courage” to engage in a witch hunt against Trump.
“There’s one District Attorney in the state and really around the country that has had the courage to do this, and she continues to do it,” Willis stated.
Of course, considering the fact that Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg – not to mention Biden Special Counsel Jack Smith and New York Attorney General Letitia James – has also engaged in a witch hunt against Trump, it’s clear that Willis just lies by default.
She further attempted to restore the credibility of her politically-motivated witch hunt by claiming that “the case landed in Fulton County, not by anything that I did, but by the actions of others, and when a case lands in my jurisdiction, that’s the end of that.”
To make matters worse for Willis, she chose to also appear on CNN, where she proceeded to proclaim that she’s not at all embarrassed by the scandal she’s been embroiled with, and that she did nothing “illegal,” despite the fact that the evidence clearly showed she committed perjury when she claimed her relationship with Wade began after she hired him as a special prosecutor in the Trump case, and that she received kickbacks from the more than $650,000 in taxpayer money she funneled to him – far more than others in similar positions – by paying for the couple to go on luxury vacations, as well as other expenses.
She also doubled down by claiming that there is a “train” coming to take out Trump.
“All while that was going on, we were writing responsive briefs,” Willis said. “We were still doing the case in the way that it needed to be done. I don’t feel like we’ve been slowed down at all. I do think that there are efforts to slow down this train, but the train is coming.”
But while Willis is running around as if the rules don’t apply to her, all of the comments she’s making could come back to haunt her.
In his ruling in which he let Willis off the hook, Judge McAfee specifically suggested that he could place a gag order on the Democrat District Attorney to prevent her from further discussing the Trump case publicly after she claimed that the only reason she was facing the conflict of interest and perjury accusations was because of so-called “racism.”
“The time may well have arrived for an order preventing the State from mentioning the case in any public forum to prevent prejudicial pretrial publicity, but that is not the motion presently before the Court,” McAfee said in suggesting the possibility.
As most are aware, especially those who are supposed “legal experts,” prosecutors are supposed to speak about their cases in court, not in the media or any other public forum, in order to prevent them from prejudicing the jury against the accused.
By making comments specifically about the trial, Willis has clearly once again violated this long standing rule.
Now, the only question is whether Judge Scott McAfee will follow through with his threat of placing a gag order on Fani Willis, or simply let her off the hook once again.
