Two Army pilots were flying a midnight patrol over the Strait of Hormuz when they found themselves in big trouble.
An Iranian drone reportedly hit their cockpit and now Trump is telling the country exactly what it took them to survive.
What those two pilots did with a burning drone lodged in their cockpit is the kind of story America hasn't heard in a long time.

An Iranian Shahed drone struck the Army AH-64 Apache helicopter Monday night while it was on patrol protecting the Strait of Hormuz.
The drone did not explode.
Instead – on fire – it lodged itself directly between the two pilots inside the cockpit.
Trump told Fox News' Trey Yingst what happened next: the pilots didn't eject, didn't panic, and didn't die.
They flew the burning helicopter down to the water.
"It was on fire, it was hot," Trump said of the conditions inside that cockpit.
Both pilots walked away without a single injury.
Trump called it a "miracle."
He wasn't wrong.

The First Sea Drone Rescue in Strait of Hormuz History
What happened after the helicopter hit the water is its own piece of history.
A 24-foot unmanned Navy drone boat – the Corsair, built by Saronic Technologies – located the two aviators and carried out the rescue.
It was the first time in American military history that a sea drone had rescued downed crew members.
CENTCOM spokesman Capt. Tim Hawkins confirmed the pilots spent roughly two hours in the water before the Corsair found them.
The Corsair is assigned to the Navy's Task Force 59 – the first uncrewed and AI-focused naval unit in American history, established in 2021 to patrol the Strait of Hormuz and the Suez Canal.

American technology saved American lives.
Trump posted on Truth Social the moment he was briefed: "I have just been informed by our Great Military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache Helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. There were two pilots involved, both are safe and uninjured. Nevertheless, the United States must, of necessity, respond to this attack."
And respond he did.
Trump Responded to the Apache Helicopter Shoot Down With 20 Strikes on Iran
CENTCOM launched “self-defense strikes” against 20 targets inside Iran on Tuesday at 5 p.m. ET.
Trump didn't stop there.
By Wednesday he was warning Iran publicly that the window to make a deal was closing fast.
"I may keep going," Trump told Fox News. "They had a chance to sign a deal and survive."
Earlier on Truth Social he was more direct still: "The Bully of the Middle East is DEAD!!! They've taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price!!!"
Iran had agreed to a ceasefire in April and spent two months failing to turn it into a permanent deal.
The Apache incident marks the first loss of that aircraft type since the conflict began in late February.
That matters – because the AH-64 has been one of America's most effective tools enforcing the blockade on Iranian crude oil shipments.
Last month, Apaches and Navy MH-60 Seahawk helicopters destroyed six Iranian small boats that were threatening commercial shipping in and around the strait.
Iran knows exactly what those helicopters do to their operations.
Shooting one down was a message.
Trump sent a bigger one back.

What These Two Pilots Just Proved About America in the Iran War
Picture it: two Army pilots hauling themselves out of a sinking Apache in the middle of the night, treading water in the dark off the coast of Oman, a burning Iranian drone somewhere in the deep below them.
A robot boat found them two hours later.
Both men walked off that rescue drone without a scratch.
Iran sent its best shot into an American cockpit at 3:30 in the morning and got 20 strikes on Iranian soil in return.
That's what Trump called a miracle.
